How do I cite the following article? Denton, C. (No date) Classroom Instruction that supports struggling readers: Key components for effective
I'm concerned about the fact that there's no date for the article.
Based on the topic of the article (Education) and because the vast majority of citation questions are for APA style, I am guessing that you will want to cite this in APA, so I will answer your question this way.
In APA, when the date is missing, then use the abbreviation for no date, which is n.d. The rest of your citation looks pretty good. Just remember to add a period after the date (outside the parentheses). Also, add a period after the title and remove the colon before the url.
Here is an example:
The College of St. Scholastica Library. (n.d.). Distance students. Retrieved from http://libguides.css.edu/DistanceStudents
APA created a handout about what to do when you are missing information from a souce and what to do to create the reference. You may find it helpful for creating future citations when information is missing. The handout is called How to Write an APA Style Reference When Information is Missing. Not only will it provide you with the information to create a reference when information is missing, but it will also direct you what to use for intext and parenthetical citations.
