Since you phrased you question that you needed information about breast cancer research, as opposed to accessing the research, I think I would recommend this route for starters. We will look for literature reviews, since they sum up current research (and since there is so much research out there, we are taking advantage of the work someone else has done previously). Here is the path to follow -

a).  Access CINAHL.*

b).  Choose "advanced search." Link is located below the search box.

c. On the advanced search page, type "breast neoplasms" in the search box. In the box immediately to the right, which currently says "select a field (optional)" click on the drop-down arrow and change the default of the box to "mm exact major subject heading."  Now click on search.

d).  You should get almost 26,000 results. Now, in the left-side menu in the refine your results section, click on "show more."

e).  Choose these options - 1) English language 2). Sex - female 3). Publication type - review.  Now click on search.

This should give you a result group of around 1200 citations. Databases usually work on the principle of "last in, first out," meaning the most current articles will be the ones you see first. The most current review articles should cover the most current research. Now I would do some browsing. If you mouse-over the icon with the magnifying glass with each citation, it will pop-up an abstract for you to read in order to evaluate whether or not the article has value to you.

I tried to look for subject headings that described "recovery" but did not have luck at the moment. You might try combining "breast neoplasms" with "cancer survivors" since articles found in this search seem to deal with the recovery (surviving assumes some sort of recovery). You can then, in CINAHL, limit the publication years of the results to 2007-2010.

Good luck with your search.

*if by any chance you are not a CSS student and are maybe taking classes in Australia, you will need to access CINAHL through your university. I checked, & it available through the library.
