How do I cite multiple quotations by the same author? Do I use "ibidem"

For example, I include a quotation form a book, and then - another one a few paragraphs below. Do I need to repeat the Author and year of the book again?

Answer

Without knowing what citation style you are using I cannot give you a definitive answer. As a rule, though, each time you directly quote a source you will need to create an in-text/parenthetical reference that includes these parts:

In APA style - author, date, and page number.

In MLA style - author & page number.

Neither the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed) or the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (7th ed.) are making use of the term "ibid."
