How do I cite a state statute in APA?

Answer

This is the example given in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed., (p. 220) for a state statute.

Mental Care and Treatment Act, 4 Kan. Stat. Ann. ₴₴ 59-2901-2941 (1983 & Supp. 1992).

This is coming from volume 4 of the print annotated Kansas statutes so it has extra information your citation would not include. I think your citation might look more like this.

Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults, Minn. Stat. ₴₴ 626.557. (2012). Retrieved from

     https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=626.557

If you are trying to cite subdivisions, I am not quite sure how to go. You might add a subd. ref after the number. Maybe ...

Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults, Minn. Stat. ₴₴ 626.557, subd 4. (2012). Retrieved from

     https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=626.557

You can make the little squiggly sections marks by going to “insert” and then “symbol” in Word.
