How do I cite references in a PowerPoint presentation?
Answer
a. Are you asking how to cite a PowerPoint presentation? If so, it would usually be treated like "personal communication," meaning the reader of your paper would not be able to view the PowerPoint since it was a one-time presentation. See this previous question for details: http://css.libanswers.com/a.php?qid=182358
b. If you are trying to cite references presented in the PowerPoint presentation, APA frowns on this. APA would prefer you locate the source cited in the PowerPoint and cite it directly.
However, APA does do have a form for citing this type of secondary information. See Question 2 on this Library page: http://libguides.css.edu/content.php?pid=61826&sid=454616
You are going to run into problems with this because the PowerPoint presentation, being personal communication, is not cited in the reference list. You will need to present the information in the text of your paper & with in-text references.
