How do I correctly site the Catechism of the Catholic Church? APA format.

I have a hard copy of the 2nd edition. It doesn't say who the author is, except it's promulgated by Pope John Paul II. Do I include anything about the Vatican? OWL purdue doesn't help with this. Thanks

Answer

I checked the Library's catalog record for the Catechism of the Catholic Church and based on that, here is what I think the reference citation would look like -

Catholic Church. (1997). Catechism of the Catholic Church: Revised in accordance with the official Latin text

promulgated by Pope John Paul II (2nd ed.). Washington, D.C.: United States Catholic Conference.

A few notes.

a).  Here is an example of a corporate author - the Catholic Church.

b).  The Vatican & the United States Catholic Conference are given credit as publishers. I remember somewhere a rule about choosing the domestic over the international, which is why I went with the USCC.

ps. Not to dis the Owl, but do they send you personal answers to your citation questions ... :)
