How to cite a college class, not a particular lesson, the class itself? I have never seen this done but my Capstone course requires it. Thanks

Answer

Before I begin I need to add this disclaimer. APA has no reference format for citing an entire class. In consultation with another Librarian, & in channeling the “spirit” of APA, I am totally making this up.

So, we need the basic parts – author, date, title, and borrowing from the form for an unpublished master’s thesis, the “where.”

Let’s think of it then as professor, date, title of course, college the class is offered at.

Example:

White, T. (2014). CAN 6400: Super-advanced dog agility for Australian Shepherds. The College of the

                Canine, Duluth, Minnesota, United States.

I think this should do it for you. If your professor doesn’t like it, then I respectfully suggest they make something up … ;)

Good luck with finals!
