How do i cite a journal article from an online subscription service? the information that i have is the author, title
Answer
APA doesn’t recognize where you found the article, so we don’t have to worry about it coming from a subscription service. The first thing you need to do is create the citation, and for that you generally need the following parts –
Author(s) | date| title of article | title of journal | page numbers
So, a basic citation would look something like this –
White, T. (2014). Epilepsy in Australian Shepherds. Journal of Aussie Vet Medicine, 20 (3), 615-645.
See this guide for more details.
APA also requires one more item for a complete citation. Either the doi (document object identifier) assigned to the article, or the URL of the journal’s website.
Since you are using subscription service, look in the article’s record for a doi. If you see one, add it to the end of the citation like this –
White, T. (2014). Epilepsy in Australian Shepherds. Journal of Aussie Vet Medicine, 20 (3), 615-645.
doi: 10.1318/T0140-6736(13)6AU2301-6
If you don’t see a doi listed, then go to Google and search for the journal’s website. Add the URL to the citation like this –
White, T. (2014). Epilepsy in Australian Shepherds. Journal of Aussie Vet Medicine, 20 (3), 615-645.

In your question you only list that you have the author & title. That is not enough for a citation. If your article is in the health sciences, you can use the citation finder in PubMed to locate the other parts, like date, journal title, etc.
Good luck.
