You could start with the Statistical Abstract of the United States. It does provide health care tables and is easy to use. The numbers in the columns are usually expressed as units of a larger measurement. This will be explained in the table headings.

The most current edition is available here - http://www.census.gov/library/publications/2011/compendia/statab/131ed.html

It is also available in print in the library.

[Remember statistics have to be gathered, reported, organized, and then published so they generally are never "immediate" numbers].

Most of the health care stats in Statistical Abstracts will come from the National Center for Health Care Statistics. the major clearinghouse of health care info.

It is part of the CDC, and is availabler here:  https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/

You could also try a CDC publication, Health, United States - https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/hus/hus14.pdf

Again, this will probably be repackaging stats from the NCHCS.
