For research articles on work-life balance of women, I would particularly recommend our database Business Source Ultimate

Business Source Ultimate has subject headings for "work-life balance" and "women" which you could plug into the windows of an advanced search. After performing this search, try using the restriction on the right hand side of the page for "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals." There is not a full-proof way of searching for qualitative/quantitative research articles in this database so you will probably want to scan the texts of individual articles for method(s) and results sections to verify that they are indeed research studies.

In addition to the two databases mentioned above, the PsycInfo database is another rich source for this topic. It allows you to limit search results by methodology, including qualitative and quantitative. Here is a search from that database which brings up some good hits:

As you find good articles, be sure to scan their lists of references so you can expand your own bibliography and reading.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
